Tales Of The Stars, Issue #4 On Kickstarter
Interview by Dr. Sheena Howard with Wilson Lee Jr. (Writer and Creator of Tales of the Stars)
Can you start by telling us a little more about the storyline behind the comic,Tales of the Stars?
The Tales of the Stars series takes place in Existence, with a capital “E”. It follows Tol’Asha of the Stars, an immortal cosmic being on a quest for a magic vessel with the power to slay the Cosmic Dragons. At its core, the series is about exploration, both of self and of the external world around us. It is a story about what it means to be.
Tell us what you are crowdfunding for in your current Kickstarter campaign? And what will the funds be used for?
Our current Kickstarter is about funding the next volume of our series. With the completion of Issue #4 We are closing out Volume 1 and laying the foundations for another four book volume.. We’ll also be using funds to expand our animated universe and bring more CnS Comics’ content to our fans.
This Kickstarter campaign is for Tales of the Stars issue #4, what can we expect in this issue?
Everything! This issue is a battle book. You will see Tol’Asha go toe-to-toe with two powerful foes in a no-holds-barred slugfest. This issue will be your first encounter with a Cosmic Dragon in combat. And Tol’Asha will be pulling out all of her powers.
What are your long-term goals for this series?
This main arc is meant to set up the main Tales of the Stars universe, Existence with a capital “E”. The goal is world-building. We are looking to create a deep and expansive universe to continue telling a wide-breadth of stories. We’ve got a total of 14 books planned for this series to get readers into the TOS Verse at large.
What was the motivation behind creating this story with these characters?
I was honestly sitting down to write an epic high-fantasy story. Tol’Asha was meant to be part of the origin story for the kingdom in my novel. But her character was such a strong, powerful image in my mind that I became obsessed with telling her story, and in understanding the universe in which she existed. So, the TOS Verse was born.
