Can you tell us the storyline behind your new book, Nothing’s the Matter?
I think we’ve all felt lonely, uncertain and insecure at times in the early days of a blossoming romance. That’s what this book is about, how you are not alone feeling that. The book is also about how one can’t expect another person – no matter how head over heels we are about them – to totally mend or fulfill us. That would be an unreasonable expectation of any other human being. The main character in this book, whilst in love, eventually finds their full wholeness through creativity. Alongside a love affair the book describes a dalliance with the wider, almost religious, mysteries of life. It considers where our sense of self and creativity comes from.
How long did it take you to write this book and what is the inspiration behind the storyline?
It took me two years to illustrate and write. My inspiration came from a corporate life in London and spending time in the more artistic areas of Paris.

What is your ultimate vision for Nothing’s the Matter?
To feel like an immersive art house movie, which works on an almost subconscious level; where the reader goes on a journey and is emotionally touched and grown by the experience of reading it. Critics have compared it to a David Lynch movie, and a Graham Greene tale for our times.

What formats does the book come in? Is it digital only? A print book? Audio book? Do you have plans to expand the book going forward?
The book is available hard and soft copy. Whilst not designed for digital, a free sample is available on Blurb’s website. I’ve no plans for a sequel or to expand the book – it’s a stand alone self contained story.
