Writing a book is hard enough but figuring out how to drive traffic to our book’s page using social media can be exhausting. Get inspiration from these 48 social media post ideas to create content that will promote your book without always feeling like promotion (lots of these ideas have great examples from my own social media platforms). Make sure you tag me in your posts!

1.A poll for your followers (i.e- allow them to vote on the books title, character names, or ask readers their opinion on alternative endings, etc).

2. Share photos of the characters, even for fiction books (Put book images on mugs, and stationary and share on social media).

3. A video promo for your book, like the one above in this newsletter or here.

4. Share book reviews in a cool graphic, like the ones HERE on my IG.

5. Share screen shots of public reader reviews.

6. A link to your newest blog post, where the book is featured or mentioned.

7. A behind the scenes video of your writing process.

8. Book and personal accomplishments and milestones.

9. A link to an older blog post about your writing process/ lifestyle.

10. An infographic about your books topic and why it’s important.

11. Give a free copy to an influencer and post a picture of them holding the book.

12. A tutorial video on a common problem discussed in the book or of the writing process.

13. A tip or trick that will solve a simple challenge that your character faced in your book.

14. Inspirational quotes around writing or books topic.

15. Inspirational images.

16. Information about upcoming book or writing events.

17. Giveaways (Include your free books but other items everyone likes)

18. News article clips about your book. (Just because the book came out a year ago, doesn’t mean you can’t repost old news and reviews about it.)

19. Podcast clips from interviews you’ve done.

20. Historical info related to your writing process and lifestyle (throwback photos, etc.)

21. Behind the scenes videos, time lapsed, like the one here.

22. Industry related news, in the books topic area.

23. A question for your followers to answer, like the ones here.

24. Holiday-related posts when the times comes, make sure your book is in the backdrop.

25. An answer to a commonly asked question about your book or writing process.

26. Links to free resources around your book topic or your brand.

27. Photoshoot with you holding the book.

28. Hiring announcements for your brand/ business and mention your books in the post.

29. Live videos that are on brand.

30. Links to promote email signups (so you can sell to your mailing list when your book comes out).

31. Inviting people to ask any questions on Instagram stories feature.

32. Asking for reader feedback in the DM’s.

33. Self-publishing or book publishing statistic that is alarming.

34. A brand-related statistic that is shocking.

35. Promotion of a partner or co-writer.

36. A comment on a trending topic related to your brand or book topic.

37. Links to valuable tools related to your brand or book topic.

38. A day in the life post of you are a writer but also your other jobs.
